Ten years ago, on 22nd October 2014, Claire Throssells son’s, Jack (12) and Paul (9) were killed when their father deliberately set fire to the family home with them inside. This happened during unsupervised contact ordered by the family court, despite Claire’s warnings that it wasn’t safe.

Since then, Claire has campaigned for safe child contact arrangements and for children’s voices to be central to decisions made in family court proceedings.

Please gather outside Barnsley Town Hall for 6 pm, in memory of Jack and Paul and to #ShineALight on all the women and children who are voiceless in family court proceedings. There will be short speeches and candles to light and share moments of quiet reflection.

If you can’t be there in person, please share a picture of a lit candle with your words of support on social media with the hashtag #ShineALight
