Our values
- We believe everyone has the right to live safely and free from abuse
- We believe anyone who has been affected by sexual and domestic abuse, sexual exploitation or sexual assault should have access to non-judgmental & confidential support
- Victims are not to blame for any form of sexual abuse or assault they experience
- It is everyone’s responsibility to adopt zero tolerance to any form of sexual or domestic abuse, sexual exploitation or sexual assault
YWHP acknowledges the need for positive action to ensure that our services are accessible and welcoming; including actively challenging racism, sexism, homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.
We support the right of all people, of all racial backgrounds, of all genders and none, multi faith and none, and those with physical and neuro diverse needs, to access safe places and support.
We recognise the ways in which those of Black and Ethnic heritage, LGBT+ people and those with physical and neuro diverse needs, can experience abuse and the barriers that can prevent them from accessing support.
As a young women’s service, YWHP welcomes all young women who need us, including trans women and non-binary; recognising, supporting understanding and learning from, the diversity of experiences as well as the experiences they share.
In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, we aim to create an inclusive community where people are enabled to meet their full potential and are treated as individuals.
